1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Silver Crow Studio (“Silver Crow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit silvercrowstudio.com, submit an inquiry, use our booking pages, make a payment, communicate with us, or receive photography services.

Silver Crow Studio is a Boise, Idaho photography studio operated by Jane Carter. For privacy questions or requests, contact jane@silvercrowstudio.com or (208) 366-4424.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact and identity information: name, email address, telephone number, and the identity of a parent, guardian, booking contact, or session participant.
  • Inquiry and booking information: the service you are interested in, appointment time, session preferences, messages, intake answers, accessibility requests you choose to share, cancellation or rescheduling activity, and booking status.
  • Payment and transaction information: amount, currency, payment status, Stripe transaction identifiers, refund or dispute information, and limited payment-method details such as brand and last four digits when made available to us. Stripe receives and processes the full payment credentials; we do not directly receive your full card number.
  • Portrait, recording, and service information: photographs, tintype plates, proofs, digital files, behind-the-scenes material, video, audio, image, likeness, voice, delivery information, model and media releases, and communications used to create, deliver, document, and promote the work and studio.
  • Website and device information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, referral page, pages viewed, dates and times, security signals, and similar log or analytics information.
  • Communications: emails, telephone messages, form submissions, support requests, and records of your preferences or consent.

Please do not send sensitive information that we have not requested. If information is needed to accommodate a session safely or accessibly, contact us first so we can discuss an appropriate way to provide it.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you, from an adult who books or communicates on behalf of a participant, automatically through our website and security tools, and from service providers involved in a transaction or booking. Those providers may include BusinessStub, Cloudflare, Stripe, email or calendar providers, and your financial institution.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to inquiries and maintain an opening or interest list;
  • display availability, create and manage appointments, prevent double-booking, and send confirmations or reminders;
  • process payments, taxes, receipts, refunds, disputes, and transaction records;
  • plan, conduct, edit, preserve, and deliver photography services and physical or digital products;
  • communicate about schedule changes, service questions, safety, accessibility, or customer support;
  • send studio announcements, session availability, special offers, and periodic email newsletters, subject to your right to unsubscribe from marketing;
  • create, select, edit, archive, publish, display, distribute, and use session photographs, tintype reproductions, behind-the-scenes material, video, audio, image, likeness, and voice for the studio’s portfolio, website, blog, social media, advertising, promotional campaigns, publications, exhibitions, competitions, awards, editorial features, and educational or process demonstrations as authorized by the model and media release in our Terms of Service;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the website and booking experience;
  • prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and unauthorized payment activity;
  • maintain business, tax, consent, and accounting records; and
  • comply with law, enforce agreements, and protect clients, Silver Crow Studio, and others.

5. Booking technology and Stripe payments

BusinessStub provides the hosted booking and booking-management technology used by Silver Crow Studio. Booking details may be processed through BusinessStub systems so that availability can be displayed, a temporary hold can be created, your acceptance of displayed booking and payment terms can be recorded, and confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and privacy requests can be managed. You can review BusinessStub’s Privacy Policy.

When you choose to pay online, Stripe processes the payment for Silver Crow Studio through a connected Stripe account. Stripe receives transaction information and payment credentials and may use information for payment processing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and its other disclosed purposes. Review the Stripe Privacy Center for details. Silver Crow Studio is responsible for the photography service, price, booking policy, customer support, and any refund it authorizes.

6. Cookies, security tools, and analytics

Our website and service providers may use cookies or similar local-storage technologies that are necessary for secure booking, payment return flows, fraud prevention, load balancing, and user preferences. Cloudflare may process device and network information to host and protect the site and may present Turnstile verification to distinguish people from automated traffic.

We may use privacy-conscious site analytics to understand visits and improve the website. If a dedicated analytics service is enabled, it may collect page, device, referral, and approximate-location information. We do not use third-party advertising pixels on this site. You can use browser controls to limit cookies, although blocking necessary storage may prevent booking or payment features from working correctly.

7. When we disclose information

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Service providers: BusinessStub for website and booking operations; Cloudflare for hosting, delivery, security, and bot protection; Stripe for payment processing; and providers used for email newsletters, calendars, file storage, delivery, analytics, communications, advertising, publication, printing, or professional services.
  • People you involve: a parent, guardian, booking contact, session organizer, or participant when reasonably necessary for the booking and consistent with the authority represented to us.
  • Public and promotional audiences: we may publish and distribute Session Media through websites, social networks, advertisements, printed materials, exhibitions, competitions, publications, and other channels as authorized by the model and media release in our Terms of Service. Information posted publicly may be viewed, copied, or reshared by others outside our control.
  • Legal and safety purposes: courts, regulators, law enforcement, payment networks, insurers, advisors, or other parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, property, prevent fraud, or handle a claim or dispute.
  • Business changes: a successor or prospective successor in a merger, sale, reorganization, or transfer of the studio, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections and applicable law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not provide mobile opt-in data or text-message consent to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

8. Data retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing the Service, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, protecting the integrity of bookings, and meeting legal obligations.

Booking and routine contact details are ordinarily retained for up to 365 days after the scheduled time, unless they are needed longer for an active relationship, transaction record, dispute, legal requirement, safety matter, or documented permission. Payment and accounting records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, payment-network, or other law. Portrait files, Session Media, plate records, model-release records, published materials, and backups may be retained for copyright, archival, portfolio, advertising, promotional, evidentiary, and other purposes authorized by the Terms of Service. Our providers may retain information under their own policies and legal obligations.

When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you, or object to or restrict certain uses. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in a message or by contacting us. Some requests may be limited when we must retain information to complete a booking, document a transaction, protect legal rights, preserve copyright or release records, prevent fraud, comply with law, or continue uses authorized by the perpetual and irrevocable model and media release in our Terms of Service. We may consider a request to stop a new promotional use, but we may be unable to recall or remove material that has already been published, distributed, printed, licensed, archived, or committed to production.

Send a request to jane@silvercrowstudio.com with enough information for us to identify the relevant record. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. A secure booking-management link may also provide cancellation or booking controls. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.

Because we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out required for those practices. Where legally applicable, we will treat a recognized browser-based opt-out signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request concerning the browser or device that sent it.

10. Children and sessions involving minors

The website and booking service are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from a child under 13. A parent or legal guardian should make the inquiry, create the booking, provide any needed information about a minor participant, and supervise the session.

If you believe a child submitted personal information to us without appropriate parental involvement, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to a small photography studio and the information involved. These include using service providers for secure hosting and payment processing, limiting access, and avoiding direct collection of full card numbers. No internet transmission, storage system, or security measure is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Keep booking-management links private. If you believe information associated with your booking has been compromised, contact us promptly.

12. External links and social media

The website may link to Stripe, BusinessStub, Jane’s other photography work, social networks, and other external sites. Those parties control their own privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.

13. U.S. processing

Silver Crow Studio is based in the United States. We and our providers may process and store information in the United States and other places where they operate, subject to applicable law and contractual protections.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised Policy with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice or request consent when required by law.
